Cox-Powell Corporation a leading Mechanical contractor serving the Southeastern Virginia Area has an immediate opening for an experienced Project Manager with the following strengths. This position reports to the General Manager.  The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the general manager in the managing, acquisition, and production flow of HVAC projects.  The preferred candidate would have extensive experience in the operation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC equipment including but not limited to: Boilers, Chillers, Towers, Pumps, Packaged Rooftop Equipment, Split Systems, Building Control Systems, Natural Gas Systems. And ancillary Equipment. Including pneumatic air flow, water flow, valves, apparatus and lines used in the distribution of heated, chilled or processed water, computerized building management system, variable frequency drive units, utilizing a computerized Maintenance Management System.

Qualifications:

  • 10 years HVAC/ Mechanical Project Management experience
  • Manage Projects for multiple crews with jobs ranging from 5k-$1,000,000.00
  • Strong Technical Capabilities – PC & Software Applications including the Microsoft Office Suite of Products (Word, Excel, Powepoint, etc.)
  • Excellent Analytical, Estimating & Forecasting Skills
  • Ability to Coordinate & Schedule Resources to Meet Deadlines
  • Manpower Planning
  • Expectations for Punctuality, Quality & Attention to Detail
  • Experience in the commercial and industrial electrical field
  • Strong steady work history with prior experience as an HVAC Technician
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to climb on ladders and work from heights safely on a daily basis
  • Able to lift 75 lbs as required
  • Efficient and organized
  • Veterans encouraged to apply
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Have a high level of mental, technical and physical aptitude

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Uses a variety of hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.
  • Identifies, analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs systems and products.
  • Performs preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed or requested by customers.
  • Maintains equipment by inspecting for signs of wear.
  • Documents work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, parts, recommendations and summary of work performed.
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends as necessary
  • Possess proper communication skills to foster a thriving relationship with customers
